About Regional Centre The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) Regional Centre, Delhi-2 located at Rajghat, New Delhi – 110 002 is the largest Regional Centre (RC) of IGNOU in terms of student enrolment and consequent to it the largest student support service provider among the Regional Centres in the Country. It covers the North, North-west, North-east, parts of Central and East Delhi districts of Delhi. Established in the year 1998, it has presently 46 Learner Support Centres (LSC) comprising 17 regular study centres, 20 programme study centres, 8 special study centres and one jail centre for jail inmates to cater to academic support of learners. Beginning with 19 Study Centres in 1998 and a student enrolment of 6425, Regional Centre, Delhi-2 has emerged as the largest RC of IGNOU with its student enrolment of nearly 89000 in 2016. The Regional Centre carries out multifarious activities such as admissions, re-registrations, establishment of LSCs, empanelment of part-time academic counsellors at LSCs, etc. The RC conducts periodic monitoring of centres, provides training to academic counsellors and orientation to study centre coordinators.
