Poser 9 S

So, today I check my emails (like every morning), and what do I see? An offer from Smith Micro to buy Poser 9 at a ridiculous discount. Normally, Poser 9 would have cost $299.99. In this offer, I scored the full version of Poser 9 for: $29.97.

  • Design, pose and animate human figures in 3D quickly and easily. Poser’s unique interface unlocks the secrets of working with the human form.
  • Poser 9 free download - Internet Explorer 9 Windows 7 32-bit 9.0.8112.16421: Microsoft's browser is becoming more up-to-date, and much more programs.

All things related to Smith-Micro’s Poser 9 software. Because I have 4 different displacements now and SSS MATs for Poser 9/Poser Pro 2012 SR3 and DS.

Digital download, so it took awhile to get the files, but it came with a serial number and everything! I could have also picked up Manga Studio EX 4 and Anime Studio 8 for $29.97 each as well, or $49.99 for all three, but I wouldn’t have used them.

I still have Manga Studio EX 3 from awhile back (i.e., about 2004-2005 time frame), and I haven’t fired that sucker up since about 2007-2008. Poser, on the other hand, I have a current use for. And I scored it for less than I got Poser 7 back a few years ago. I know, I know, Poser 9 isn’t the latest version. I’m cheap, remember? Unless it flat out won’t work (in which case buying it would be a waste of money), I’m likely to wait until something is either heavily discounted or (better yet) free.

Serial

Personally, I’d have loved for Poser 9 to have been gratis, but that ain’t happening. In other news, I have received an interesting offer from (purportedly) PoserPro to become an affiliate selling Poser through my “website”.

I’ll be researching this to determine if this is a legitimate communication, and what it would entail, should that be the case. Considering the amount of spam and crap out there, I’m leaning towards this being a little (spear) phishy. As an aside, Spear Phishing is when an attempt at Phishing (attempting to gain access to Personally Identifiable Information (PII) via a communication) is done targeting a specific individual. These are tailored messages that attempt to entrap an individual by using their interests and usually address the individual by name. I’ll report back on what I find out. UPDATE: Yeah, this sounds really phishy. I got the message on my Twitter account.

Now, the message is no longer present (Red Flag). I can’t find the message sent from (supposedly) @PoserPro on Twittter (Red Flag). The signup page points out the the “company” that is doing the marketing (CJ.com) is based in China (Red Flag). A bit of research into the “company” indicates that the vast majority of people who sign up to become “affiliates” rarely ever see any money, since anything under $100 gets confiscated as an “inactivity fee” (Red Flag). Talk about really sketchy practices. Yeah, I’m filing this one under phishing.

More proof that you need to regard EVERYTHING with a grain of salt. Frankly, I’m now rather offended. I swear, if I get another of those, I’m backtracking the account to the originator and I may sign up the user for a bunch of questionable magazine choices (nah, not really. I thought about it once with a guy who kept spamming one of my email accounts, but I figured he was just a poor SOB that got hacked. Probably by a phishing scam). Oh, and the Poser 9 offer was legit.

It was off of the Smith Micro website. Enjoyed your post & your blog. Rhino 5 crack.

Poser 9 Serial

I observed the Poser 9 steal of a deal as well and will be getting it on payday hey, that’s tomorrow. I have been tinkering with this stuff (DAZ mainly) since around April, but like you work and family have prevent anything more than dabbling with my new hobby.

I added Blender and GIMP in April as well but only tinkered a little with them. I got Hexagon at half price and my dabbling with Blender helped me a lot with Hex. I have learned a bunch, but there is a ton more to uncover. I will check back in on your blog occasionally to see what you have uncovered in the world of 3d art. Be safe and don’t drink the kool-aid.

Thanks, Doug. I actually got my copy of Hexagon from the Daz book, so I guess I got mine at 100% off. I never was able to do much with it until I found the tutorials over at geekatplay. I decided to use Blender instead of Hex simply because of availability. I’m doing the blog to share how to go from modelling software to Poser/Daz Studio, so I want something everyone has access to.

If you find out anything on your own, feel free to drop a comment. I feel that community sharing is really the way to go with this. Information should be free, no?
