Hello all, Yes it is a commercially produced product, however it is not copy protected and encrypted. The DVD is a magazine produced for the deaf and not encrypted with css as I know many have used it on portable players such as Archos and Wolverine. Many other programs can copy and edit this DVD just fine. But I have this program. Video wave successfully imports the entire movie.

I do not think that Videowave will import css encrypted films. The issue is not encryption but the fact I cannot select individual chapters within the movies.

If I use the Importer the chapters come in blank, however if I use Video wave and add the media selecting the VOB file and grab the entire movie I can import but then I have to cut the film down to the few minutes I need here and there. Maybe I will try a test home movie compilation tonight and see if I can grab individual chapters - if not it might be a bug in the media importer. Just seems wierd that one program works fine but the other spits out blank files.

Hello, Has anybody seen this before: I try to import DVD video using Roxio media import and I get a bunch of files names correctly but 0 bytes. I can import the exact same video through VideoWave Add Media - however I would rather use the importeer as I am stuck grabbing the whole chapter/video insead of segments or scenes.

Does it show an arrow that you can click to select chapter from the DVD? If so, select the chapters of interest and copy it as an mpg file (Destination) (or do this exercise for EACH chapter).

I've been trying every possible input available to Roxio and none will actually grab chapters only entire movies requiring later cuts. I tried the Copy Convert and it took forever, giving me the false sense that something actually was working. I found a full size.vob file in%temp% but it never cut and converted the Chapters selected.

It just created a 0byte file named correctly but empty, oh well. I just started ripping the chapters in Linux and burned a cd containing the snippets (yes I only needed a few hundred MB of video). If anyone else has further ideas I will be playing with a few more videos this week. However I will most likely just resort back to using only VideoWave to edit and Linux to copy and convert to mpg. Anybody know if this has been fixed yet? Roxio still cannot import video from a DVD source. This source is unencrypted.

Videowave can open the VOB directly but it will import the entire 30-40min video when all I want is a chapter. The media import continues to fail to actually create a file larger than 0bytes. I have considered upgrading but if the new Roxio is plagued with the same problem maybe I should send my money elsewhere. The.vobs in VideoWave, is the proper route to take. Using the Timeline view, you split and delete the sections that you don't want, save the file, close VideoWave, open MyDVD, bring in the VideoWave file you just made, and burn it.
