There is a free download here for the 539 model. Although not the same as your model, the threading and operation is most likely the same. Be sure to Always Raise The Presser Foot while threading the upper thread!
As for oiling, since your machine is an older mechanical, it probably needs a thorough cleaning and oiling. With the case open, slowly handrotate the handwheel toward you. Watch where metal parts rub metal and apply 1-2 drops of fresh, good quality sewing machine oil (Tri-Flow Synthetic Oil works well also). Be sure to hit the areas on the top, the side where the needlebar is located, and under the base (ie the feed dog and bobbin mechanism). Do NOT oil plastic/nylon, rubber, or belts! HINT: It usually helps to raise the presser foot during the threading process-allows the tension disk to release so the thread will seat properly.
